  • Next Panerai for me?

    Hi All,

I've adored my 915 for several years and I'd like to add another PAM...but it has to be different enough for me to keep reaching in for it in my watch box. I'm thinking about the submersible Blue Notte or the 40mm 1371, or any Radiomir 45mm and below.

I'd welcome the thoughts of this esteemed group.

As someone who's owned a couple Rads in the 45mm range, let me tell you, they fit smaller than a 44mm Luminor. That may be what you want, but if it were me seeking a Radiomir today, I'd look for 47, and probably automatic.

I just recently went backwards, after several years of regretting/missing my first 111, g series from 2004, I found a perfect condition 111g with boxset and just had it shipped to my house today.
I currently have an 005 which I will likely sell now, but keeping my 764 regatta and seadweller 43 but I am likely going to add a 1389 to the rotation later this year.
I've tried to like the radiomir models with the wire lug, always loved the 183g, but never felt compelled to buy one.
I'd also like to have a bronzo or carbotech model eventually as well.

Radiomir is a great choice, but I’ve never found that my 45mm 210 wears smaller than my 112. It’s flatter & lighter and a pleasure to wear. I also have an early tritium 024 which because of the bezel wears smaller in my opinion. 3 different models that all get worn evenly.

If you can try a 47 Rad... a 294 or 232 perhaps to mix things up.
Or a 44mm Sub like the 1226, just in time for summer!

I recently got my first Rad a 735 joining a mixture of 44/46 Luminors.Definately wears smaller than 44 Luminor and is a great addition.

I always recommend a 232 for those who want a Radiomir to complement a Luminor. That being said, I never happy with the flat look of my 232, so I bought a 249 bezel and crystal (pretty much impossible to do today) which basically makes it a 294. The domed acrylic really makes a difference. If you are serious about pursuing a 232/294, let me know. Hiro

My shopping plans were derailed by my first-ever COVID bout ( it had it's low points, but I was lucky, not too bad ) and hope to make it to the AD or a boutique soon.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Looking at your post, I want to give the new 45mm Radiomir "8 Giorni" a look. I love the discipline of the 8 day winding of my 915 and I think these might really tick a few boxes with me. The new 45mm California dial feels like the type of watch that, if you connect to it, stays in your watch box forever. Anyone seen one yet?

I'm still going to look at the white dialed 40mm 1371. While I wear my 44mm 915 all the time, when, enamoured of the white sandwich dial, I looked at the 1314, the slight extra length of the lugs in the non-Bettarini case, made me pause. My wrist is just under 7" but very flat - and I'm a bigger-than-average guy - so what does or doesn't fit me tends to be tricky. I want to see where this 40mm comes out.

Hoping to head out late this week.

Just wondering if you ever got to your AD to try anything on and maybe even buy something.

I'm also looking for second PAM to add to my Luminor. The Submersibles and the Luna Rosso's are really calling me.
