  • Rare or Hard to find ?

    Hello Everyone,

I’m brand new to Panerai but not new to watches. There’s something about Panerai that keeps drawing me in so I decided to join the club in order to learn more from the pro’s

I was interested in a possible vintage Panerai or something that is sort of special in terms of rarity. Nothing precious metal.

Does anything come to mind? And why?

Thanks in advance for dealing with an newbie!

What does everyone think of the PAM 425? Not being in the Panerai world, I think it’s pretty cool as the frogmen directly correlates with their history.

I think if you were to search out a Fiddy (127) or even a 372 (although the latter isn't exactly "rare", you're doing fine. Certainly in either case you're doing the brand justice and capturing the essence.

If you like the 425 then the ltd edition 449 might be perfect as a more special watch. Either way if you’re new to Panerai go & try them on. You might be surprised what you like.

Thanks for the help. I went into the AD today and tried on everything. I found that the 42mm pieces fit me the best. He suggested the discontinued 1940 line. He had one that for me to try on and the thinner case and smaller 42mm really feels great. I’ll have to search some of those out.

Buy from the AD. Usually your first should be from them. That new watch smell (just don’t sniff in front of them) and maybe get a couple of free straps thrown in.

So you didn't buy from the AD after he steered you in the right direction?
